The police of the United Kingdom announced on Monday that they received permission for the further detention of four Iranians arrested last week on suspicion of preparation for a terrorist act. The five men, aged between 29 and 46, were detained in connection with a special operation. Four of them were arrested under the Terrorism Act, and the fifth under another law.

"The Terrorism desk in the police received permission for the further detention and questioning of these four men, which means that their detention and questioning may continue until the next hearing," the police stated.
